Does freezing food stop it from expiring?

At 0°F (-18°C), microbial growth stops and microbes become dormant, but they are not necessarily destroyed. Enzyme activity slows rather than fully stops. Continuously frozen food remains safe indefinitely, while quality gradually declines.
